All model DGP180 grease guns, including models DGP180ZK, DGP180RT, DGP180ZBK, and DGP180RTB sold throughout New Zealand since 25 March 2021; and
All flexible hoses (600mm/1200mm) sold throughout New Zealand, including models 191A80-4 (sold since 15 December 2021), 191W59-7 (sold since 15 August 2022), 191A79-9 (sold since 20 April 2021) and 191W58-9 (sold since 14 January 2022).

Issue: Repeatedly bending the tip of the hose to inject grease into narrow spaces can cause a hole to form near the tip of the hose, potentially leading to grease spraying out. It can cause a potential hazard to fingers and hands if users work without protective equipment.
At least 5 incidents have been reported overseas, not in New Zealand.

What to do: Stop using the product and contact us through the online form on our web site to arrange delivery of a replacement hose, free of charge.
Alternatively, take the product into the store you bought it from, or to your nearest Makita Factory/Authorised Service Agent and Makita (New Zealand) Limited will arrange free of charge hose replacement.
